So. Chile. Words that come to mind? Neruda, earthquakes, Easter Island. And of course: Pinochet, coup d’etat, dictator, mass murder, missing people. And when you think about him, other people come to mind, right, Franco and Mussolini and of course, Godwin’s Law, Hitler. So far, so good, as far as…

i’m sorry but i think that maybe if people like him for whatever reason you should respect that, even if you think is awful or whatever.. everyone has the right to like different things and freedom should not be wether you think is right or not.

So, what you’re saying is I have to respect their right to believe killing, torturing and raping people is such a good idea it deserves a party.

Do you realize we’re not talking about the right to choose between vanilla and chocolate or what you’re going to be wearing this week— this is about something that actually affected (and apparently still affects, since some still seem to think fun times were had by all) people’s lives. In a live/die/a world of pain kind of way.

Please, tell me how is that something that should— that could be supported. Explain it to me, please, because I honestly don’t get it.

okay i’m not looking for trouble here lol but yeah if you don’t like it don’t go, i personally think the FPMR are killers too, and yet i have to be here and watch how some people say they’re heros and stuff, but yeah its they’re opinions. you can’t change people’s mind because you don’t like what they think.

… do you see me defending the FPMR? That’s neither here, nor there, but I do think deliberately taking anyone’s life makes you a murderer, period.

I’m not against those opinions, per se. You’ve a right to think whatever you want. It’s actions I’m wary about. Actions like a tribute to a mass murderer. How do you teach a kid that violence is wrong, when they’re calling killers, heroes left and right, with the protection, even the blessing, of the government and the law? And how, then, do you stop it from becoming a part of our culture? Ignorance is one thing, and it wasn’t a right way to cope in the first place, but this… this is dangerous and it shouldn’t, it can’t be supported, especially not by the law.

I do appreciate your opinion, by the way. I might disagree with you, but speaking up is not an easy thing to do.
